The Weekend Update

Friday night was a night full of firsts! We had our first visitors from out of town - our friends from Panama City (and my neighbors growing up), Hal & Lori. They treated us to our first fancy dinner out on the town at Landmarc in trendy Tribeca (you've probably heard of the Tribeca Film Festival). Afterwards we went for the first time to a frozen yogurt place called Pinkberry that is all the rage (no matter what time night or day there will be a line, usually out the door)! Mrs. Lori even brought me the sweetest "house warming" gifts - a lovely smelling candle, pretty dish towel & most desperately needed kitchen timer from this really cool store called McKenzie Childs. After dinner & dessert, we came to our apartment, played Wii & got to visit some more. We had so much fun and are so blessed to have such generous & thoughtful friends!

Mr. Hal & Chris duking it out on Wii Boxing

Moving on to Wii Baseball (Mr. Hal was pitching, Chris was batter up)

This weekend was great, because it was good times spent with old friends & new! On Saturday, we headed out to Brooklyn to spend time with our friends from church, Ryan & Cassie. We mostly shopped around for vintage furniture (Ryan just moved into an awesome new apartment in Bedsty, Brooklyn, and we're keeping a lookout for an inexpensive coffee table) at shops in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Ryan ended up finding just what he was looking for, a couple of Eames chairs. The fun really began when we took them back to Ryan's place in Bedsty from Williamsburg (apx. 30-45 min. subway ride). I snapped the shots below of the boys being silly in the subway station. I wish I would have gotten one of Ryan sitting in the chair in the actual subway car. He's hilarious. After seeing Ryan's place, we headed back to Manhattan to rest for a while. Ryan & Cassie came over later that evening for supper. The boys played Wii all night long & Cassie & I enjoyed some good games of cards =).

Chris doesn't have the nonchalant not looking at the camera pose down quite as well as Ryan =P

Ryan, a graphic designer & quite the artistic type, instructed me this would be a cooler angle. Lol - I have no camera skills or "eye for the shot".

ALL of those pictures are SOOOO funny!!! I'm glad that you and Chris got to spend time with old friends (referring to the amount of time that you've known Hal and Lori, not their ages) as well as new friends! It looks like you had a great weekend! By the way, I'm always reading about how popular Pinkberry is...how cool that you got to eat there! Was it as good as everyone says it is? Please make mental notes of places to go/things do to when we come to visit. Only about 5 months (and counting). Love you!
