We finally have a coffee table/ottoman, which is a source of great happiness around here! We've been on the hunt for one ever since we moved in, but because the apartment is furnished (meaning none of the furniture is ours), we didn't want to invest too much in one. We're very conscientious about keeping the items we'll have to move down to a minimum. Anyways, I've been eyeing this coffee table at Ikea.com for a while, but since we don't have a car, the logistics of getting to Jersey to see it in person & pick it up are kind of tricky.

Well, that's where the beauty of Craigslist comes in. I found the exact table for sale for $10 (it retails for $50), so Chris & I picked it up Thursday night before bible study. Yesterday I went to this great fabric store on 7th Ave, though I must admit I was in way over my head with all the FIT students browsing for their latest designs. After about an hour, I settled on this really beautiful tweed that is mostly a really dark navy with specks of color throughout.

After dropping the fabric off at the house, I walked up to 8th St. & bought some foam cut to size & batting. A few hundred staples later . . .

our feet can rest easy at last! Yippee!
On a side note, I must mention that I uploaded the pictures for this post using Chris' new EyeFi Wireless SD Card. It uploads pictures to your computer without even taking it out of the camera! Cool huh!? You can check it out at www.eye.fi. It was a great Christmas present that Chris & I are both enjoying - thanks Mom & Dad!

Great job, Katy! Hope the weather is okay for you today! ( I heard it was supposed to snow but then turned out to be mostly mushy stuff instead....is that the word? No slushy stuff! That's it!) Anyhow, stay warm!
Love the coffee table. You are so creative and determined. Hope you enjoy your new semester classes and learn a lot. Approximately 8 weeks until I see you again and counting.
You and Chris are in my daily prayers.
Love you,
Mom
Looks great! You are so good at home decorating! You'll have to give me some good ideas when we move :)
