Celebreality

So little time, so much to blog about! Here's the condensed celebrity-centered version. Last Tuesday night, we went out to dinner with our friends, Ryan and Cassie, to celebrate their birthdays. We went to Chris' favorite restaurant, Del Frisco's. It's a really nice steakhouse, and I must admit, I had the best filet mignon I've had in my life that night. It was actually, really, really cold that night too. As we were bundling up and heading out the revolving door, we practically bumped into this elderly man. It turns out he was this guy

We realized it about the time he got through the door. That same morning, in a popular commuting paper, AM New York, it was reported that the celeb & her baby-daddy (possibly her husband too, I'm tragically behind on my celeb gossip) pictured below have taken up residence in our apartment building while she is in town shooting a movie. We quickly confirmed the report with our doorman, and though we have yet to see her, I did run in to baby-daddy as he was getting off of the elevator when I was coming home from work one day last week.

Last, but certainly not least, in celebration of my Mom's birthday, she came up for a visit last weekend. As a part of the celebratory events, we went to the ballet at City Center. And which principal ballerina for the American Ballet Theatre did we get to see perform? None other than Julie Kent! Recognize her? She plays the principal ballerina for the fictional American Ballet Company, Kathleen Donahue, in the movie Centerstage. She even does a beautiful little cameo performance of Romeo & Juliet in the movie, which is one of my favorite parts. She's pretty much ballerina perfection and it was such a joy to get to see her perform!

As another part of the birthday festivities, my mom and I went to tea at The Plaza. It was absolutely fabulous. I'm officially in love with that hotel. And although the food was not as scrumptous as served at tea at the St. Regis, that hardly seems the point when you're being serenaded by the sweet strums of a golden harp and sitting in the most utterly flawless gem of a room in which you've ever had the privilege to dine.

Chris, if you're listening, the less you care that you live in the same building as Jessica Alba, the better! The more indifferent & apathetic you act about catching a real-life glimpse, the more indirect bonus points you will receive.

Just thought I'd help a brother out
