Life in the Journey

I knew it wouldn't be long before I caught the cold Chris has been battling for a little over a week now.  So when I woke up coughing non-stop last night, it really came as no surprise.  I took some Robetussin and went back to bed.  Shortly thereafter, I decided to get back up and use the neti pot - the single greatest device for relief of all things sinus related.  Within 20 minutes I was sleeping soundly.  Not to be conquered so easily, the nasty bug reassured me of its presence this morning by the faintly visible fever blister threatening to emerge on my lower lip.  I promptly lathered it in Abreva and started my every 4 hour Zicam regimen.  I also used the neti pot this morning, as I do every morning.  And, I've felt fine all day long.  As I have never before started using these medicines "at the first sign of [fill in the blank]", I am excited to see if they will really work.  Here's hoping!
