It was so wonderful to have my parents in town this weekend! I miss them a lot & it was so great to get to spend a few days together seeing the sights & just getting to visit. Below is the highlights tour of our weekend together.
Friday we walked around campus & hit up the bookstore for some NYU gear. Then, we headed over to the river for a nice walk down the Hudson down to Battery Park. We then walked over to the World Trade Center site & went in the museum there. After that, we meandered around the Financial District for a while before heading back up to the apartment to get ready for our show that night, The Drowsy Chaperone. The show was hilarious & Dad didn't absolutely hate it, so that's really saying something =).

Saturday morning we enjoyed pancakes at our place & then the four of us headed out to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. We had a lovely walk & then after walking around Brooklyn Heights for a while headed to famous Grimaldi's for pizza. Then, we rested up & watched the LSU game until it was time for our 5:30 reservation at trendy David Burke & Donatella on the Upper East Side. The restaurant was fabulous - uber chic and delicious - what more could you ask for? I will never in my life forget the decadence of the cheesecake lollipop tree - it was life-changing =). Oh, and another cool fact is the award-winning chef & co-owner, David Burke, has competed on Iron Chef. It was pretty cool to recognize him from TV.

On our last day together, Sunday, we went to church, grabbed some lunch & then walked over to Central Park. It was a really lovely afternoon. Eventually we headed back to our place for some final visiting before Mom & Dad had to head back to the hotel to pack up & get to bed early for their flight home at the crack of dawn on Monday. I was so sad to see them go, but can't wait to see them again (as well as the rest of our family) at Thanksgiving!

It looks like you all had SO MUCH FUN this past weekend!!! I LOVE the pictures and thoroughly enjoyed reading about all the great places you visited while mom and dad were in town. Quick question: is there any way you can format the pictures so I can enlarge them when I click on them? If not, would you mind e-mailing them to me so I can see them full sized? Some of them are REALLY good!!!
BTW: Is it just me, or does dad make the police officers look like midgets? And in that same picture is dad carrying a murse (man-purse)? Too funny!
Loved the pictures of n.y. I talked to your dad last night and I think he had a great time. he said it might be too much walking for Paw Paw so I told Paw Paw he better get his walking skills better if he wants to see N. Y.
Love hearing from you .

Glad you all enjoyed your visit - looks like the weather was fantastic and ya'll did get some great pictures!!
hey katy- i'm finally getting a chance to read your blog! i have some catching up to do! i am CRACKING UP at the picture of your dad by the cops. it looks like he is sneaking by them with a stolen purse! or maybe it's his man-purse as kristy suggested... but i think i'd rather that he stole one than to be carrying his own. haha. looks like you are living in up in NYC. have fun!!
