Long time no post =). But seriously, life has not been that exciting around here lately. BUT, it did get a bit more exciting this week. Here are the highlights:
- After enduring one of NYC's worst heat waves with a broken a/c, we now have a working window unit. Granted it's 6000 BTUs which is enough to possibly a/c 200 sq. ft. & our apt. is over 600, but you know what, it's sooooo much better than nothing!
- My very best friend from law school, Sasha, surprised me with a visit on Thursday!!! We had the most wonderful time hanging out in the village, then going to a fabulous dinner at the Grand Hyatt (courtesy of Sasha's sister who is a manager there). Sasha's childhood friend, Janine, and sister, Jodi-Kay, went with us and we had the most wonderful time. The food was delicious & the company was even better - we laughed all night long! Our dinner lasted about 4 hours & I loved every minute of it - so refreshing!!

- Friday night we experienced what has to be another NYC rite of passage - our first play premier (a friend of a friend was in the play). It was a TINY theater and we ended up on the front row, practically sitting on the stage, but all in all, it was a neat experience.
- Sunday was the wedding shower for our friends Ryan & Cassie at church. Everyone really pitched in and it turned out great. The food was delicious and my first (successful) attempt at coffee frappe was a hit! We're so excited for Ryan & Cassie - it's so nice to have couple friends =).

- Today, I went to a hair model casting call (weird huh!) at Bumble & Bumble. I was picked for a razor bob, so I scored a free haircut for July 10. Which means, stay tuned to see the cut - it may be dreadful, but I think it will be a cool experience and who knows, maybe I'll pull it off! =). Worst case scenario, it's hair, it'll grow back! Oh, and as a positive externality, I got to wander around in the Meatpacking District for a while. What a neat area - we're definitely going to add it to our apartment search!

The table at the shower looks so pretty. You did a great job! Cassie and Ryan are blessed to have such good friends :)
Can't wait to get to see your new hair cut. I'm sure it will look fab.
Love you,
Kristy
PS. Glad you have some cool air pumping in your apartment. If you're not getting any cool air upstairs, I highly recommend sleeping on the air mattress near the window. It's quite comfy :)
Ok... when you say Meatpacking District I am picturing huge slabs of raw meat dangling from the ceilings of old warehouses:( I am guessing I am disillusioned, or maybe you were joking and I did not get it:) You will have to clear it up for me!!
